Hi.

Anyone here might know how ions will affect the variations in the refractive index? charged ions influx into the evanescent wave will result in theta variations towards positive or negative.
I'd like to understand how positively charged ions and negatively charged ions' interaction with the electron density cloud will result in a change in the refractive index of the medium/buffer? (respectively). Which ion charge will decrease or increase the refractive index and why?
(I got contradictory information through litreture. Your help and consultation is highly appreciated:))
Thank you.

Best,
Maedeh
