Practical questions about SPR was created by 9sven6
Hello reader,

This website has been a huge help with my project and it has helped me understand what other sources had had difficulty explaining. I intend to use SPR to measure the binding affinity and would like to have some answers to more practical questions, which I found difficult to find online.

How long does a single cycle take?
How much do I need to do once a measrments is on its way?
Is it easy to mess up the prep work, such that the mesurement will fail?
Do you need a lot of training to use a SPR machine.

I know that these questions depend what brand of machine I use, but it would be nice to have some sort of idea for a rough time budget.

Hi,

A single cycle can take between 1 minute and several hours depending on what you want.
How much of what? See www.sprpages.nl/downloads/faq
Yes, it is with all instruments/techniques: if you do it wrong it will report wrong answers
No, but a good basic foundation is always better.
How much time you will spend depends on what you want, you know and how far you will go to get nice and reliable results.

Kind regards
