Presence of BSA in running buffer changing binding kinetics

Hi all,

I've noticed for one interaction I am looking at the presence of BSA in the running buffer has increased my dissociation rate. Is this typical? Are there any papers looking at this phenomena?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

BSA / HSA as such is known to bind proteins. It could be the case with your analyte. An increasing dissociation rate can point to some rebinding / mass transport in the experiments without BSA.
I am not aware of papers investigating this other than using BSA to suppress non-specific binding.

How much is the dissociaton rate constant increasing? Can you give some values?

Kind regards
Arnoud
