Hi,
I would like to prepare a buffer with EDTA and it´s the first time I would like to know whta EDTA I should use. EDTA sodium salt? EDTA sodium dihidrate?

Hi Pappillon,

Ethylenediaminetetra acetic acid disodium salt dihydrate: Mw 372.24 is OK.
Make a 0.5 M solution by dissolving in pure water and adding NaOH until pH 8.0.
EDTA dissolves readily at pH 8.0 but very slowly at pH < 8.0.
Sterilise by autoclaving or 0.22 um filter. You can store it for a long time (> 1 year).
