I noticed that with FRET the proteins must be labelled in some way. In SPR this is not necessary.
With SPR, small molecules ( < 500 KD) are hard to detect and with FRET this is possible.
Which equipment do you have since both need special machines?

Thanks Arnoud for your reply. Probably we might use Confocal Microscopy ( zeiss or Olympus) for FRET and for SPR ( Biacore or Reichert). Can you let me know which one is better Your suggestions would be valuable. I am new to this area of work.

For the SPR I should use the Biacore machine since it comes with ready to use sensorchips in stead of the Reichert (thats what i read in their brochure).
